My mother needed assistance getting to and from the airport, and I was recommended this place by her retirement community. Every thing from my initial contact with the company to their assistance with my mother was excellent, professional and very caring. They got her to the airport and thru security in plenty of time and were there to pick her up when she returned. I used Senior Alternatives when I moved back to the East Bay to spend more time with my aging father. While I was still living in New Jersey, I realized that I needed someone located close to Piedmont to assist with both the big picture as well as day to day home care issues. At the time, my father had early signs of Alzheimer’s as well as prior medical conditions. I had been told to look for a firm with both care management as well as home care, and looked at a number of companies. They also pointed out their integration of care management and home care by pairing social workers with the home care being provided by the home care aides. I could not have been happier. My father got better medical care since they advocated and monitored everything, and they were able to adjust his medications and get him on some special ones for Alzheimer’s, which improved his quality of life, and reduced his dementia symptoms, too. Plus, they had excellent, sweet home care aides, and as my father’s Alzheimer’s got worse they were well-trained to be able to manage him. Toward the end, the care managers helped us deal with end of life decisions, enabling us to spend our remaining time focusing on him and not stressing out.

My very dear friend needed my help finding care last year after a fall. From the very first call, I knew they were exactly what I was looking for–the ability to immediately provide my friend with caregivers, and then find her assisted living, and coordinate the move to her new home. The caregivers Senior Alternatives provided, which were a must at night at the thinly staffed rehab facility, provided excellent care, and were kind, reliable and flexible. Anna Le Mon coordinated my friend’s care, and she went above and beyond. She helped me with the many forms that needed to be completed for the assisted living apartment, the intake requirements, etc. It was a daunting task but Anna was there for me every step of the way. Her knowledge of the process and longstanding relationship with the assisted living provider made it so much easier. The day my friend moved to her new assisted living apartment there were certain items, for reasons beyond our control, that had not been delivered or set up. Anna picked up the items for me and set up the room. I was nearly in tears when she shared a video with me of how nice the apartment looked. If I weren’t thousands of miles away, I would have done what Anna did, but Anna stepped into my shoes, and I am so grateful.

My mom has used Senior Alternatives twice now when her husband became very ill, the first time for a total of 5 weeks. The level of care was exceptional. The same 3-4 care givers rotated on a 24 hour basis leading to continuity of care. Each care giver was responsible, knowledgable and unobtrusive in the home. For my mom, who needed help with her husband, she found the care givers to be very pleasant and really helpful. We highly recommend this organization. They were so easy to deal with!

During the 2+ years that I relied on Senior Alternatives to provide home care for my husband, I was never disappointed in their level of commitment to our needs.
